Midway Skip Yard

Midway Skips is a busy Melbourne based waste management company. They had accumulated 900 cubic meters of soil containing brick, rock, concrete and timber, which was starting to take up a large portion of their yard.

Using the Melbourne Soil Screening plant fitted with a 22mm screen to take out the brick, rock, sticks and concrete pieces ranging up to .7m in size (larger pieces were removed using our bobcat). We spent two days screening and sorting overs into separate piles -

- Red bricks were removed and palleted manually to be resold,

- Concrete pieces were removed and set aside for crushing

- Clean soil stock pile and

- A soil/rock/brick/concrete stockpile.

The soil was of average quality but was still able to be sold for $15per meter. If we had wanted to improve the quality and value of the clean soil we could have re-screened the stock pile with the 11m screen.

The stockpile of soil/rock/brick/concrete will be re-screened again once it is dryer with a 50mm screen and the undersize material will be taken to clean fill and disposed of for $5 per meter. The oversized material will be taken to be crushed.
