Waterside Metal Art

Located in Melbourne’s Inner West, Waterside Metal Art Studio is an artist blacksmith studio offering blacksmithing courses, quality forging supplies and tools and blacksmiths coke.

Owner Steve Phillips engaged us to screen 25 cubic meters of coking coal used in his blacksmiths workshop. The coal consisted of material ranging from powder up to 50mm pieces.

The entire 25 meters was run through the 22mm screen sorting the overs into a stockpile of larger pieces that will be crushed at a later date and re-screened. The screen was then changed to the 11mm screen(5 minute change over) and the remaining 15 meters was screened again producing 5m of dust which we recycled and 10 cubic meters of the optimum range product (10-20mm pieces) that Steve can re-use in the blacksmith shop.

The entire process took 5 hours, which included moving all coal to screening location and back into bays after screening as well as transporting the fine material off-site for recycling.
